Why a peel

Why choose a chemical peel in Atlanta

Matched to your skin

The peel is chosen for your tone and concern, not pulled off a one-size shelf.

Safe on melanin-rich skin

The aim is real correction without triggering the pigment that the wrong peel can cause.

Works beyond the face

Peels treat the neck and décolletage, back, hands and arms, and intimate areas.

Fits a real schedule

Most superficial peels need little to no downtime, so they slot into a busy week.

Builds over a series

Tone and texture keep improving with continued treatments.

Clears and calms acne

Peels lift congestion and dead-skin buildup, which helps active breakouts and the marks they leave.

Concerns

For the person who wants to target...

Texture

If your skin feels rough, looks congested, or just is not as smooth as it used to be, a peel clears the buildup of dead surface cells and speeds up your turnover. That softens the surface and refines texture, and it keeps improving as you repeat it.

Hyperpigmentation, at every level

This is where peels earn their place. They can work on surface discoloration like sun spots and the marks left behind after breakouts, and, at the right depth, on more stubborn pigment like melasma that sits deeper. On melanin-rich skin the peel is chosen carefully so it lifts pigment without provoking more.

The early signs of aging

By speeding turnover and prompting some collagen response at medium depth, peels soften fine lines and bring brightness back to dull skin. For deep, set-in wrinkles you will get further with resurfacing, and I'll tell you honestly where a peel fits in your plan.

Peel depth

Light to medium, chosen for you

Not all peels are the same, and that is the advantage. I select the depth and formula for your skin rather than running the same peel on everyone.

  1. 1

    Superficial peels

Gentle acids that work on the surface layer, with little to no downtime. Best for brightening and light texture work, and for maintenance between deeper treatments.

  2. 2

    Medium-depth peels

These reach a little further to work on more stubborn pigment and fine lines, along with rougher texture. Expect a few days of visible peeling.

  3. 3

    Chosen for your tone

On melanin-rich skin, depth and formula are chosen conservatively to protect your tone.

How I work

The peel is only as good as the read behind it

On melanin-rich skin, choosing the wrong acid or depth can do more harm than good. My read of your skin is the whole game, and I select the formula and depth to correct your concern while protecting your tone.

You also leave with a clear plan for before and after, since how you care for the skin around a peel decides how well it heals and holds.

What to expect

Your session, step by step

  1. 1

    Consultation

I look at your tone, texture, and concern and select the right peel and depth for your skin.

  2. 2

    Cleanse

Your skin is deeply cleansed so the peel can absorb evenly.

  3. 3

    Treatment

The peel is applied and left to work for a set time, with your comfort monitored throughout. Most sessions run 30 to 60 minutes.

  4. 4

    Results

Skin looks brighter and more even as it heals, with continued improvement over the following weeks.

  5. 5

    Follow-up

We book your next session four to six weeks out, while the collagen is still building. That rhythm is what turns one good result into lasting change, and it's where we build your regimen to support the work between visits.

Candidacy

Is a peel right for you?

Most people are good candidates for a peel matched to their skin. The consultation is where I confirm fit and, on melanin-rich skin, choose the depth that corrects your concern safely. A peel may need to wait or may not be the right fit if you:

  • Have an active cold sore, infection, or open skin in the treatment area
  • Have been on isotretinoin (Accutane) recently, since skin needs time to recover first
  • Are pregnant or nursing, since some acids are not used during that time
  • Are in an active flare of a condition like eczema in the area
  • Have had recent resurfacing or another peel that the skin is still healing from

If a peel isn't right yet, I'll tell you and map out the timing or an alternative.

Before your appointment

How to prep

  • Stay out of the sun

Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner for at least two weeks before. Peels are only done on healthy, unburned skin.

  • Stop retinoids and exfoliants

Keep retinoids, glycolic acid, and other exfoliants off the area for about seven days before.

  • Hydrate

Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your peel.

  • Skip hair removal

No waxing, tweezing, or shaving the area for about three days before.

  • Use a mild cleanser

Keep your routine gentle for a few days before your appointment.

  • Tell me what your skin has been through

Flag recent treatments, breakouts, or medications that affect healing.

After your treatment

Aftercare and recovery

  • Keep cleansing gentle

Use only a mild cleanser while the skin sheds and settles.

  • Do not pick or peel the flaking

Let it shed on its own so you do not scar or mark the new skin.

  • Protect with SPF

Wear a broad-spectrum SPF every day and stay out of direct sun while the skin heals.

  • Stick to your post-care products

Use the medical-grade products I send you home with, and hold off on actives until I clear you.

  • Avoid heat and sweat

Skip saunas, hot showers, and hard workouts for about three days, since heat can irritate healing skin.

  • Expect some flaking and mild redness

Light sloughing and pinkness are normal parts of the process.

Your results

What to expect over time

Superficial peels heal in about one to three days, while medium-depth peels can take up to a week or so as the skin sheds and renews. As it heals, tone looks more even and texture looks smoother.

How long results hold depends on the depth and your skin. Lighter peels tend to last a few weeks to a month, and medium-depth peels several months.

For steady tone and texture, many people come back for a peel every one to a few months. I set a cadence around your skin and your goals.
